One of my favourite trends at the moment is mixing bold colours and big statement accessories with soft nude shades and light textures. Think Josh Goot’s Pastel Palette for Spring Summer 09. Mix and Match a soft simple beige dress with a slick of strong lilac lip colour and a hard clutch. This style is not for the fainthearted though and can be tricky to pull off!
Another trend that is easier to pull off and will suit any figure is one that all the celebs are enjoying at the moment. The white floor length dress. This style is classic and you can wear any shape of the dress to suit your figure. Wether you’re channelling Miss Monroe with some bright red lips or sporting loose curls and a one shoulder Grecian style, there are endless ways to wear white.
There’s also a fifties redux with girls wearing fuller frocks and longer styles. Emulate Audrey Hepburn and don a one shoulder or wide necked, full-skirted frock for you formal. This look is so flattering on any shape and gives every girl an amazing waist line. Experimenting with contemporary colours and detailing in this style is also right on trend. Black & White looks fabulous on anyone but bright turquoises and moody reds are popular too -it’s up to you and how daring you want to be!
