This week I’ve tried out Lime Crime’s Lipsticks from Makeupnet.com.au. The colours I’ve got are Retrofuturist (a smouldering red) and Great Pink Planet (a cute Barbie pink). If you aren’t familiar with Lime Crime, they are an out of this world, hyper coloured, sometimes sparkly and always bold makeup brand.
Lime Crime describe themselves as ‘the colour revolution’. Creator Doe Deere made Lime Crime’s so-bright-it’s-illegal-makeup PETA-certified cruelty-free. Which means they don’t test on animals and all the products are Organic, Gluten Free and Vegan. Check out Doe Deere’s cute blogazine here!
The colours are not only bright but also opaque. The intense block of colour is long lasting so stays bright all day and all night -which is perfect for the School Formal. Wo wants to be reapplying lipstick all night when you could be on the dance floor? I love the matte finish too –I can wear it by itself throughout the day and add some gloss for a nighttime glam look.
I’m not the biggest fan of out-of-this-world-bright- colours (I’m more of an au naturale girl) so trying out these colours was a bit out of my comfort zone! In the end I really liked the results (just have to remember to tone down the eyes when I’m playing up the lips!). Lime Crime also have some cute pastel lipsticks and magic dust eye shadows that I’m dying to try… Lilac lips anyone?
Colour names like “No She Didn’t” Blue Lipstick (told you it was out of this world!), “Cosmopop” Opaque Lipstick and “My Beautiful Rocket” Opaque Lipstick all add the daring charm of Lime Crime Cosmetics.
The best part? The seriously pink, unicorn-adorned packaging! I am a total sucker for good packaging but who wouldn’t be with this cute hologram motif of a unicorn on the side of your lippy? It’s honestly hard not to feel like a superstar whipping one of these cute Lime Crime lipsticks out of your clutch.
