Pre Tanning Tips

Spray tanning can be very tricky to get right.
There’s a lot of preperation needed that not every girl knows about. We asked tanning expert from Brisbane Leigh Bird from the “Blue House” in Greenslopes, QLD how she gets it right have compiled some tips on how to come out of the tan booth looking more ooh la la than oompa loompa.
So here are some general rules to follow:
- Book your tan in for 2 to 3 days before the formal so you will “fade” to be a natural colour and have an even coverage. (And if you end up with a bad case of “tandoori” tan you have enough time to scrub it all off!)
- Don’t shave right before your appointment. Try to do it 24 hours beforehand.
- Make sure you give your skin a big all over body scrub. You want fresh skin for your tan to hold onto or you could end up looking reptilian.
- Avoid any moisturisers/oils/deodorants on your skin. Only fresh washed skin will soak up the tanning lotion evenly.
- You will want to rub a bit of moisturiser (not too much) anywhere you don’t want a lot of tan like palms, elbows, ankles and knees. Anywhere you have naturally dry skin will turn darker than the rest of your body.
- Get a professional!! Experience in this field is really important.
Now you’re all ready for your spray tan! Go ahead and get bronzed. If you're in Brisbane call Leigh Bird on (07) 3847 5577 for an appointment
