Girl on Girl Crime

29 July 2010 by Marzie in Homepage, Latest

If you’ve seen “Mean Girls” you’ll know what I’m talking about when I say “girl on girl crime”. Bitchiness can be a big problem. The school formal is a stressful time for everyone and no one wants to have any extra pressure on them with exams, graduation and schoolies all so close together. There are a few things you can do to minimise the bitchiness before the big night.

  • “Umm… that’s my dress.” Make sure everyone knows who is wearing what and that no one is wearing the same thing. You don’t necessarily have to give away your whole outfit if you want it to be a surprise though; just let the girls know what colour/ style it is or where it’s from.

  • “I don’t know if I’m invited.” Be organised. Make sure everyone is on the same page and ready ahead of time. If you are having a pre party make sure you decide who’s having it and where and who’s invited and keep everyone updated. No one wants to feel left out or have plans fall through at the last minute.

  • “I thought I could pay you for it later?” Sort out payments and split everything evenly and fairly. If you’re hiring a Limo for transport to the event make sure every one knows exactly how much/ when they have to pay.

Tip: the key is to be diplomatic, reasonable and clear. (NOT: over the top, self absorbed and drama queenish) It will make your whole formal experience a lot lovelier if you’re still talking to your besties by the end of it!
